Website Research & Design

Thorough research was the foundation for a successful website redesign. It came down to two goals: Demonstrate the core values of the company and ensure their key audiences could easily get to the content they needed.

Preliminary Research

The main goals for this site came to be understood through the initial conversations with the client. Working with team members from digital strategy, workshops and stakeholder interviews were conducted to identify key user groups and their needs. These insights were key in developing the information architecture for the site.

Solutions from research

This solution was derived from the fact that the two goals solved each other. Investors were the key audience that needed financial data, and the core values of the company were acting in the interest of these investors. Showing what made the company valuable was intertwined with its financial data.

High-level IA

First, a high-level information architecture was developed. We wanted to ensure the content users needed was easily accessible, and started to map out where key messages around the company’s values would be displayed. Message priority was also displayed so a conversation with the client could be facilitated.

Detailed IA & Site Map

Once we had client buy-in on the high-level IA concept, we moved to develop the full sitemap. This sitemap reflected the on-going conversations we had with the client, and presented a very specific solution to their needs.

Wireframes

Created for major touch points of the various experiences. These wires explained the details of how and where data would be displayed.

Conclusion

Once we had approval form the client on the overall design of the site, we worked with our creative department to bring it to life, then our developers made it reality. Cross-team communication was a must throughout the entire project to ensure the final product exceeded client expectations. Due to the research that was conducted at the beginning of the project, the website was very successful, receiving positive reviews from the company’s top leadership and key clients. It also managed to secure an award from Kentico as one of the top ten websites using their platform.
